Testing with @bbytwee | Theresa Grant | 1 of 2 | February 17, 2017
Once upon a time, I had the opportunity to photograph @bbytwee
Theresa was incredible, as you can clearly see below. This was shot as part of a test for Ford. The incredibly talented and severely underutilized Michell Lelia did the makeup/hair. You’ve gotta check out Theresa’s stuff. She’s out there kicking ass, it seems. There are so many dope shots here that I had to split this session in to two posts. Stay tuned for part II.
5 Looks with Cameron | 5 of 5 | Cameron Newbill | October 19, 2016
Cameron Newbill, Lauren Searle, & I made these images.
This was the last of 5 looks we photographed that day.
The final look was a simple cashmere hooded sweatshirt. We were quickly approaching sunset, and the wind was acting wild. Therefore, we only got a couple shots with this look, and I further proved to myself that using flash outdoors at this hour just doesn’t work for my style. The final image is proof of this, and is only here for narrative purposes. Cameron was and is a superstar. Her work is fantastic and deserves a look. The same can be said about Lauren Searle, who did hair and make-up for this shoot. We shot FIVE looks that day. This is the fifth.
5 Looks with Cameron | 4 of 5 | Cameron Newbill | October 19, 2016
Cameron Newbill, Lauren Searle, & I made these images.
This was the fourth of 5 looks we photographed that day.
Two more looks and we’re running out of daylight. The red bus seemed like a great backdrop for the green camo jacket. We were headed to the beach for the final look, and grabbed a couple more shots with this one before the wardrobe change. Cameron was and is a superstar. Her work is fantastic and deserves a look. The same can be said about Lauren Searle, who did hair and make-up for this shoot. We shot FIVE looks that day. This is the fourth.
5 Looks with Cameron | 3 of 5 | Cameron Newbill | October 19, 2016
Cameron Newbill, Lauren Searle, & I made these images.
This was the third of 5 looks we photographed that day.
Little Havana & leather pants. Seemed like a good idea. We were driving around and this spot screamed out to us. Cameron was and is a superstar. Her work is fantastic and deserves a look. The same can be said about Lauren Searle, who did hair and make-up for this shoot. We shot FIVE looks that day. This is the third.
5 Looks with Cameron | 2 of 5 | Cameron Newbill | October 19, 2016
Cameron Newbill, Lauren Searle, & I made these images.
This was the second of 5 looks we photographed that day.
I forget where the idea for the Sprite came from, but it was the perfect touch for this look. Cameron was and is a superstar. Her work is fantastic and deserves a look. The same can be said about Lauren Searle, who did hair and make-up for this shoot. We shot FIVE looks that day. This is the second.
5 Looks with Cameron | 1 of 5 | Cameron Newbill | October 19, 2016
Cameron Newbill, Lauren Searle, & I made these images. Karl Lagerfeld is on the sweatshirt. None of us made that sweatshirt.
This was the first of 5 looks we photographed that day.
Sometimes, I’m a stylist. I wish that Karl sweatshirt came in my size. I asked when I picked it. It was made of Neoprene too. So dope. Cameron was and is a superstar. Her work is fantastic and deserves a look. The same can be said about Lauren Searle, who did hair and make-up for this shoot. We shot FIVE looks that day. This is the first.
Making Memories with Marie for Montce | Marie Vigr | July 14, 2016
A truly magnificent shoot with Marie Vigr.
Sometimes friendships are made on photoshoots. This was one of those times. Marie and I had a wonderful day creating, talking, and setting the stage for a long friendship. She’s since moved back to France, but we keep in touch and I’m quite happy about that. Here are the incredible fruits of our labor. It was and still is some of my best work.
The swimwear was graciously donated by Montce. Michelle Lelia did the hair and makeup.
Lavishness with Liv | Liv Jaeger | July 12, 2016
I got to style and photograph the absolutely incredible Liv Jaeger. Here’s what happened:
I didn’t know Liv, but my good friend Andrew Gifford had the idea and made the introduction so we could collaborate. I did all the styling on this one, with a combination of clothing from Adidas, Calvin Klein, and Marciano. Michelle Lelia did the makeup. Sometimes, when editing images, its so difficult to decide which color palate to go with. I couldn’t pick which blue I liked better. You’ll see here that I couldn’t choose on many of these wonderful images of Liv. Posting this reminds me that I need to reach out to Andrew. He’s always been a fan and supporter of my work. Since I moved here to Miami, I just don’t talk with him as much as I should. (Those are really Liv’s eyes. These images are absolutely retouched, but the eyes are all her.)
Why So Serious, Jeffrey? | Jeffrey Hayzlett | August 18, 2015
A brief photoshoot in Financial District, Manhattan, with Jeffrey Hayzlett.
I met Jeffrey Hayzlett at a networking event back in the early days of Twitter & businesses trepidatiously dipping their feet into unknown waters. He was the first Fortune 500 CMO to invest company time and money into social marketing at such a high level. You might recognize him from his myriad television appearances. Over the years, Jeffrey has been a friend and truly magnanimous supporter of my work and career path. From my old fledgling podcast, to my advertising career, to my life as a professional photographer, Jeffrey has always been supportive, to say the least. I can’t believe I’m sharing this, but here is the first on-location podcast interview I ever did, with Jeffrey and my good friend and ex-cohost, Ohdoctah. Here are small handful of images we briefly shot, back in 2015 for his upcoming book release. I look forward to more great images and projects with Jeffrey.
Shannen's Wheelchair Bag | June 1, 2015
What happens when a FIT student creates a utilitarian project, and then asks me to photograph it for her?
I knew Shannen from the NYC Meatpacking District nightclubs. She was attending the Fashion Institute of Technology at the time. I don’t remember the specific circumstances, but Shannen said she created a wheelchair bag as a project for a class, and asked if I could photograph it. I don’t know this guy, but if I’m not mistaken, this was a random man Shannen knew from the streets around FIT, that actually inspired her to create this project in the first place. I like that memory. She did something generous for someone who needed it, and asked me to help out to some degree. Oh… and that bag was awesome!
How the Heck Did I Get Here? | James Monroe Iglehart | Rehearsal | 54 Below | May 18, 2015
The incredible, Tony Award winning James Monroe Iglehart, rehearsing for his first concert at 54 Below in NYC, back in 2015.
The name of the show was How the Heck Did I Get Here, but I could also ask that question of myself. James Monroe Iglehart. Tony Award winning, JM Iglehart. I wasn’t prepared. This was an opportunity that I shouldn’t have said yes to, in hindsight. When all was said and done, I really only felt like three or four images were up to snuff, I was super embarrassed, and I think I just delivered those.
A shame. James and his wife and the whole ensemble were such wonderful and fun people and I just feel like I let them down. So, 8 years later, I dig in, and use the editing skills developed since them to put out this passable (I hope) set.
James! If you happen to see this post, I owe you a shoot, someday, somehow. You can call it in whenever.
Hijinks with Harper | Harper SEEN | May 7, 2015
Lana Haper SEEN is a force of nature.
Harper is a force of nature. This one was a bit of a blur. I just know she’s absolutely fearless & full of life. You can check out her music here.
Candice | Candice Kilpatrick | February 8, 2015
A quick photoshoot with Candice Kilpatrick from February, 2025.
We didn’t shoot much, but these few images, edited three ways each, are pretty damn cool,
